That is one badass Bertha, maybe the most energized version I've ever heard. They were not pussyfooting around when they walked on stage for this one in Berkeley, now were they? Bertha>One More Saturday Night>Sugaree just to get things started! I mean, this is one full throttle show. And China Cat>Cumberland? Way out of control!

Sometimes I just miss these guys so much.

I listened to the Bertha on the way home tonight...3 times! It seemed Jerry was ready to belt it out. Then after the jailhouse lyrics he tempered it, almost like he was reflecting that the jailhouse wasn't so swell. All in all it was one hell of a Bertha. I got chills the first time around cause of all the emotion in the instruments and vocals.

I'm with you brother. Times like that I miss them more than words can tell. We'll see what happens with the Ratdog show next Friday in Portland. Looking forward to it.

Sure thing Bryan. We must be kindred souls, although I'm spelled with an "i". :-)

If by old pipe you mean briefcase full of crack and heroin, then yes.

gotta love em - the only guy that could honestly say personal use (hence the hot pipe) not distribution! the only thing I didn't get is why 10 miles from home - maybe the live in was not cool with it?

Whoa, just to clarify, it wasn't crack, it was freebase. Yes, there is a difference---what exactly the difference is I'm not sure, something about the the way it's cooked up. Call him the junkie he was, just don't him a crackhead.
